**IMPHAL, Sept 24:** Acclaimed filmmaker Meena Longjam’s documentary “Andro Dreams” has continued its winning streak by being selected for the prestigious 13th Iran International FICTS Festival. The film, which tells the inspiring story of Laibi, an elderly woman who defies hardship to sustain her all-girls football club in the remote village of Andro, Manipur, has resonated with audiences globally.

The Iran International FICTS Festival, a gateway to the Milan World Competition, celebrates films that embody the values of unity, perseverance, and fair play in sports. “Andro Dreams” captures Laibi’s indomitable spirit and the challenges faced by the team, highlighting their resilience, cultural pride, and the transformative power of sports.

This selection follows a successful premiere at the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival in Egypt, where Longjam was also a participant. The film has since gained recognition in various Islamic countries, showcasing its cross-cultural appeal.

“Andro Dreams” has previously been featured at several prominent festivals, including the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK), the Korean International Ethnographic Film Festival (KIEFF), and the Jagran Film Festival, where it won Best Documentary.
