**Brisbane, Australia -** A large fire broke out in Brisbane’s inner south-east on Wednesday afternoon, leaving one man with life-threatening injuries and severely damaging two buildings.

The fire started around 4:30pm at a single-storey commercial building on Hubert Street in Woolloongabba. The blaze quickly spread, engulfing two buildings and causing smoke damage to a third.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services responded with 13 crews, battling the flames until late Wednesday night. An exclusion zone was established, closing surrounding roads and urging residents to stay indoors. The zone was lifted early Thursday morning.

The injured man, who sustained airway burns, was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
