**New Delhi, September 25, 2024:** Malayalam actor Siddique has approached the Supreme Court seeking anticipatory bail in a sexual assault case filed against him. The case stems from the Justice Hema Committee report, which exposed widespread discrimination, exploitation, and nepotism in the Malayalam film industry.

Siddique was denied bail by the Kerala High Court on September 24th. He is currently reported to be absconding, with a look-out notice issued against him. The High Court found sufficient grounds to register a criminal case against the actor based on the woman actor’s complaint, which accuses him of rape and criminal intimidation under Sections 376 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

The High Court deemed interrogation of Siddique crucial, considering the gravity of the accusations and the evidence presented. Siddique has vehemently denied all allegations against him.
