**SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA** – Kia Corporation announced its plan to begin selling its innovative Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) models in Japan by early 2026. This expansion marks a significant milestone in Kia’s global PBV strategy, which aims to redefine mobility solutions beyond traditional cars.

The brand will initially launch the PV5, a mid-size PBV model tailored to the Japanese market’s diverse business needs. This model, unveiled at CES 2024 in Las Vegas, offers customizable features, allowing businesses to tailor the vehicle’s interior, seating layout, cargo space, and battery capacity to their specific requirements.

Kia’s PBV ecosystem extends beyond individual vehicles. The company plans to collaborate with local Japanese businesses to develop comprehensive mobility solutions. As part of this strategy, Kia has partnered with Sojitz Corporation, a leading Japanese trading company, to serve as the distributor for Kia PBVs in Japan.

“We are excited to begin PBV sales in Japan and deliver customer-centric value,” said Sangdae Kim, Senior Vice President and Head of Kia PBV Business Division. “We will continue to introduce various PBV solutions optimized for the local market to satisfy the demands of our Japanese customers.”

Kia’s PBV models are built on a dedicated platform that allows for high customization. This enables businesses to improve cost-effectiveness and provide greater value to customers through bespoke product solutions. The advanced, tailored interiors of Kia PBVs offer unparalleled flexibility, redefining the concept of space.

To meet the growing global demand for its PBVs, Kia is constructing a new state-of-the-art ‘EVO Plant’ at its Autoland facility in Hwaseong, Korea. This dedicated manufacturing facility will be Kia’s first for PBV EVs.

Before launching its PBV sales in Japan, Kia will continue showcasing its PBV models and business ecosystem at mobility shows, providing opportunities for potential customers to experience the technology firsthand.
