Actress Jessica Biel has reportedly dropped out of the upcoming Peacock series “The Good Daughter,” an adaptation of Karin Slaughter’s novel. The 42-year-old actress was set to star in and produce the series, which received a straight-to-series order earlier this year.
While details surrounding Biel’s departure remain undisclosed, Deadline reports that a new star is expected to be announced shortly. The show, penned by Slaughter, tells the story of sisters Charlotte and Samantha Quinn, whose lives were shattered by a violent incident. When another attack rocks their small town, Charlotte, a lawyer, must confront her past demons as the case unfolds.
Despite exiting “The Good Daughter,” Biel is still set to star in the upcoming series “The Better Sister,” another book-to-screen adaptation. She was last seen filming in New York City back in July.
