**Springfield, Ohio** – In a move described as “lawfare” by some observers, the Haitian Bridge Alliance (HBA) has filed criminal charges against former President Donald Trump and Ohio Senator JD Vance in Springfield’s municipal court. The charges, filed Tuesday, stem from the duo’s vocal criticism of the recent influx of Haitian migrants into the city.
HBA alleges that Trump and Vance engaged in “disrupting public services, making false alarms, telecommunications harassment, aggravated menacing and complicity” through their public statements. The group argues that the pair’s rhetoric, which they claim vilified and threatened the Haitian community, constitutes criminal behavior.
The charges come amid growing tensions in Springfield over the arrival of an estimated 20,000 Haitian migrants. While business and political leaders have welcomed the influx, many residents express concerns about the impact on wages, housing, and the overall community.
The HBA, backed by major donors like Mark Zuckerberg’s FWD.us and George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, has actively advocated for Haitian migration. Critics argue that the group, along with other pro-migration investors, stand to benefit from increased cheap labor and consumer spending.
The Springfield case has attracted national attention, highlighting a broader debate on the economic and social impacts of mass migration.
“This is not about racism,” said HBA co-founder Guerline Jozef. “This is about holding Trump and Vance accountable for their actions. If anyone else had engaged in the same behavior, they would be arrested. They must face the same consequences as everyone else.”
Trump and Vance have not yet responded to the charges. The case will now proceed to a hearing to determine if there is probable cause to issue arrest warrants.
