**San Francisco, CA** – Google is set to bring a new level of personalization to its popular Google Photos app with the integration of Gemini AI. This upcoming feature will allow the Memories feature to generate narrations for users’ photo and video compilations.

According to strings of code found in the latest Google Photos app version 7.1, Gemini AI will be used to create “Gemini-powered memories” complete with narration. This will enhance the Memories feature, which currently only offers slideshows with background music, by providing context and a richer storytelling experience for users.

“Currently, other people may not get the context or have the same experience as the ones involved in the created memory,” states Sagar Naresh Bhavsar in a Neowin post. “The inclusion of the Gemini AI narration feature could add this missing piece and provide context to the memories.”

While Google Photos is known for its image and video backup capabilities, the inclusion of Gemini AI will elevate it to a more interactive and engaging platform. The AI will be able to analyze images and videos, extracting relevant information to create engaging narratives.

This exciting new feature is anticipated to be available as an opt-in option in December, giving users the choice to enable or disable the AI-generated narrations.

The addition of Gemini AI to the Google Photos Memories feature highlights Google’s ongoing commitment to improving its products through the power of artificial intelligence. This innovative feature is expected to enhance the user experience, making memories more personal and meaningful.
