Wed Sep 25 09:16:23 UTC 2024: ## Apocalypse Unleashes Six-Wheeled “World Ender” Defender, Aiming to Outmuscle Mercedes G-Wagen 6×6

Florida-based tuner Apocalypse has taken the Land Rover Defender to a whole new level with their latest creation, the “World Ender.” This six-wheeled behemoth is essentially a Defender 110 with a pick-up bed grafted onto the back, adding a second rear axle and transforming the iconic off-roader into an even more capable monster.

The World Ender boasts a host of modifications, including front wheel-arch extensions, a roof rack, “cow killer” bullbars, and a skid plate to protect the front axle. It rides on massive 20-inch steel wheels wrapped in huge all-terrain tires, requiring Apocalypse to develop a custom air suspension system capable of raising or lowering the vehicle by 203mm to accommodate its swollen arches.

Under the hood, the World Ender packs JLR’s supercharged 5.0-litre V8, delivering 518bhp and 461lb ft of torque, sent to all six wheels via a new gearbox that also includes a rear-wheel-drive mode. Apocalypse CEO Joseph Ghattas has stated their ambition is to “eat the Mercedes G-Wagen 6×6’s lunch.”

This isn’t the first time a Defender has been transformed into a six-wheeler. Land Rover itself offered a 6×6 version of the classic Defender, and the current iteration has seen a small industry emerge specializing in these conversions. However, the World Ender promises to be the most capable and luxurious version yet.

The World Ender starts at a hefty $374,999 (£280,000), and its success remains to be seen. While some enthusiasts are excited by its off-road prowess and unique aesthetic, others question the practicality and price tag of such an extravagant vehicle. Ultimately, whether the World Ender will find its niche in the market remains to be seen.
