**SINGAPORE** – All 12 Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) servicemen injured in a collision involving two Hunter armoured fighting vehicles (AFVs) during Exercise Wallaby in Australia have rejoined their unit after receiving medical care.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when a Hunter AFV rear-ended another while returning to base at the Shoalwater Bay Training Area in Queensland. The servicemen sustained non-serious injuries and were taken to hospital.
Following the incident, the Singapore Army emphasized the importance of maintaining safe distances, especially during low visibility conditions. Training has since resumed at the exercise, which involves approximately 6,200 personnel, including 500 operationally ready national servicemen.
Exercise Wallaby, first conducted in 1990, is held annually at Shoalwater Bay Training Area. This year’s edition began on September 8th and will conclude on November 3rd.
