Wed Sep 25 07:16:31 UTC 2024: ## Heartland and Murdoch Mysteries Get Their Own FAST Channels as CBC Expands Streaming Offerings

**Calgary, Alberta** – The popular Canadian television series “Heartland” and “Murdoch Mysteries” are getting their own dedicated FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) channels on CBC’s streaming platform. This comes as the public broadcaster continues to expand its digital offerings to keep up with changing viewer habits.

The 18th season of both series is set to premiere on CBC’s main network and CBC Gem later this month. The new FAST channels will offer viewers access to the previous 17 seasons of each show, allowing fans to binge-watch their favorite episodes or catch up on missed seasons.

“Heartland,” a family drama set in Alberta, is based on the bestselling books by Lauren Brooke. “Murdoch Mysteries,” a crime procedural, is inspired by Maureen Jennings’ 1997 novel “Except the Dying.”

The FAST channels will join CBC’s Comedy FAST channel hub, which already features popular shows like “Schitt’s Creek,” “Run the Burbs,” and “Son of a Critch.” CBC has also announced plans to launch 12 new FAST channels dedicated to local news across Canada later this year.

“We are always looking for new ways to connect audiences with our original entertainment,” said Sally Catto, CBC’s GM of entertainment, factual and sports. “As more viewers turn to FAST channels as part of their daily lives, we want to make their favourite shows even more accessible.”

The launch of these new FAST channels demonstrates CBC’s commitment to providing viewers with accessible and diverse content across various platforms.
