**SINGAPORE -** Popular social media influencer and entrepreneur, Ranveer Allahbadia, has become the latest victim of a cyberattack. His YouTube channels, including the popular fitness channel “BeerBiceps,” were hacked on Wednesday, September 25th.
The attackers renamed both BeerBiceps and his personal channel to accounts featuring the names of Elon Musk and Donald Trump, deleting all existing content and replacing it with older streams featuring the two prominent figures.
YouTube swiftly removed the hacked channels, displaying a message indicating their unavailability. While Allahbadia was out of the country in Singapore at the time of the attack, he has yet to publicly comment on the incident.
His cryptic Instagram posts, however, have left his millions of followers in a state of uncertainty.
“Celebrating my two main channels being hacked with my favourite food. Vegan burgers. Death of BeerBiceps met with Death of diet,” he captioned a picture of a meal.
His subsequent post featuring a selfie with an eye mask and the caption “Is this the end of my YouTube career? Was nice knowing you all,” fueled speculation about the future of his online presence.
The hacking of Allahbadia’s channels comes just a week after the Supreme Court of India’s official YouTube channel was taken down after a similar attack. The hacked channel broadcast videos promoting cryptocurrency before being removed.
This incident highlights the growing vulnerability of online platforms and the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures to protect users and creators from such attacks.
