The film, set to hit theaters on March 14, 2025, stars Riko Fukumoto as the protagonist Isaku and Jesse, a member of the idol group SixTONES, as Keiya.
Directed by Keiichi Kobayashi with a screenplay by Yо̄suke Masaike, the film is produced by Yurika Koike and distributed by TOHO.
“A Girl & Her Guard Dog” follows the unique relationship between Isaku, a young woman haunted by a traumatic past, and Keiya, a former special forces member tasked with protecting her. The manga, originally launched in Bessatsu Friend in December 2018, has gained a dedicated fanbase with its compelling storyline and heartwarming characters.
While the live-action adaptation is eagerly anticipated, the manga itself is currently on hiatus. The success of the anime further solidifies the series’ appeal and adds to the excitement surrounding the upcoming live-action film.
