Wed Sep 25 03:17:27 UTC 2024: ## Volvo EX30: Small Electric SUV Arrives in Malaysia, Starting at RM188,888

**Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia** – Volvo’s smallest electric SUV, the EX30, is now available in Malaysia, with prices starting at RM188,888 for the base Plus variant. The EX30, which made its global debut in June 2023, slots in below the XC40 and C40 in the local lineup.

The fully-imported (CBU) EX30 is offered in three variants: Plus, Ultra, and Ultra Twin Performance. The base Plus variant features a 69-kWh battery, providing a range of up to 476 km based on the WLTP standard. It is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 276 PS (203 kW) and 343 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 5.3 seconds.

The Ultra variant, priced at RM208,888, boasts the same powertrain but comes with added features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, and powered front seats.

The range-topping Ultra Twin Performance, priced at RM228,888, gets an additional front electric motor, resulting in all-wheel drive and a total system output of 428 PS (315 kW) and 543 Nm. This variant sprints to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds but sees its range slightly reduced to 450 km.

The EX30 supports both AC and DC fast charging. The 11-kW on-board AC charger can fully charge the battery in eight hours, while the 153-kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in just over 28 minutes.

The EX30, measuring 4,223 mm long, 1,837 mm wide, and 1,555 mm tall with a 2,650 mm wheelbase, offers a smaller footprint than the XC40 and C40. It features a distinctive design with a wide stance, sloping roofline, pixelated Thor’s Hammer daytime running lights, a clamshell bonnet, and two-section LED headlamps and taillights.

Inside, the EX30 does away with a traditional instrument cluster, relying on a 12.3-inch central touchscreen for key driving information. The touchscreen also integrates the climate control system and acts as the main access point for most vehicle functions.

The EX30 prioritizes versatility and reduced resource usage, featuring a soundbar instead of door speakers, unconventional glovebox placement, and a spacious rear boot with 318 litres of cargo capacity (expandable to 718 litres with the rear seats folded).

The EX30 comes standard with a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, a five-year Volvo Service Plan, and five years of Google and data connectivity.
