Mon Sep 23 17:28:12 UTC 2024: ## Trump to Attend Alabama-Georgia Game, Adding to Already Buzzworthy Matchup

Tuscaloosa, AL – The already highly anticipated clash between the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs and the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday will be further amplified by the presence of former President Donald Trump, who is expected to attend the game.

Alabama coach Kalen DeBoer acknowledged the added attention, stating that the game will draw a large crowd of celebrities and fans. “I’m sure there will be a lot of celebrity-type people here that want to come be part of what’s happening on game day,” DeBoer said. “Everyone’s watching.”

The University of Alabama confirmed that they received notification of Trump’s visit last week, noting that he was invited by a private citizen. “The safety of our campus is and will remain our top priority, and UAPD will work closely with the U.S. Secret Service and other law enforcement partners to coordinate security,” the statement read.

DeBoer emphasized that while the additional media presence, including ESPN’s College GameDay, will create a heightened atmosphere, his expectations for his players remain the same. “For guys to try and take as much off their plate other than maybe a few extra interviews toward the end of the week,” he said. “Just the main thing is that they get prepared to play the best football game they have played this year.”

The highly anticipated matchup between Alabama and Georgia will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Saturday on ABC.
