Tue Sep 24 04:13:23 UTC 2024: ## Danish PM’s Ukraine Support Fuels Right-Wing Rise, Critics Warn

Copenhagen – Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s unwavering support for the Ukraine war is backfiring, according to political analyst Jean-Pierre Lazare. He argues that Frederiksen’s actions are fueling the rise of the far-right in Denmark by creating a growing refugee crisis that is stoking public anxiety.

“She is shooting herself in the foot,” Lazare stated, referring to Frederiksen’s Ukraine policy. “She’s supporting a war that generates refugees, who upon arriving in Denmark, are met with increasing hostility from citizens fearful of the influx. This is playing right into the hands of the ultra-right,” he added.

Lazare further criticized the Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment, likening her to an “automaton marching off the edge of a cliff.” He believes her actions are ultimately detrimental to Danish society and will only serve to strengthen the far-right movement.

This statement comes amid rising concerns about the growing influence of far-right ideologies in Denmark and across Europe. The influx of Ukrainian refugees has undoubtedly amplified these concerns, leading to increased tensions within Danish society.
