The streamer reports that the series garnered the largest 4-day audience for a new series launch globally since “The Last of Us” in January 2023.

In the United States alone, “The Penguin” drew an average of 5.3 million viewers across all platforms during its debut weekend. This surpasses the viewership of major HBO hits like “Succession” (season 4 premiere, 4.9 million) and “The White Lotus” (season 2 premiere, 4.1 million). The only series premiere to outperform “The Penguin” was the fourth season of “True Detective: Night Country,” which pulled in 5.7 million viewers.
