VR boxing fans, rejoice! The highly-anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed “The Thrill of the Fight” is set to launch in early access on November 21st. “The Thrill of the Fight 2” will initially be available exclusively for Meta Quest 2 and 3 headsets, with a PC-tethered version likely to follow.
While the original game was lauded for its immersive boxing experience, the sequel takes things to the next level by introducing multiplayer support. Players can now go head-to-head with friends or other enthusiasts, experiencing the thrill of a real boxing match in virtual reality.
The early access release will focus solely on multiplayer, with a single-player mode planned for later. This allows developer Ian Fitz, working with Fruit Ninja developer Halfbrick Studios, to gather valuable feedback from the community and further refine the game’s AI and combat system.
“The Thrill of the Fight 2” boasts a revamped combat system with improved physics and damage calculations for a more realistic boxing experience. Skill-based matchmaking and private matches are also included to ensure fair and enjoyable gameplay for everyone.
While the lack of a single-player mode at launch may disappoint some, the addition of multiplayer and the promise of a more robust AI system in the future make “The Thrill of the Fight 2” a must-have for any boxing enthusiast and VR gamer alike.
