Detroit, MI – Dozens of Bridgerton fans who paid hundreds of dollars for a themed event in Detroit were left deeply disappointed and furious after the event fell far short of expectations.
The event, hosted by Uncle N Me LLC, promised a luxurious experience inspired by the popular Netflix show. Attendees, dressed in elaborate costumes, were promised a night of classical music, a gourmet dinner, a play, and even a “Diamond of the Season” competition. However, they were met with undercooked food, minimal decorations, and, instead of the promised entertainment, an exotic dancer and a stripper pole.
“It was completely empty in there,” said Amanda Sue Mathis, who traveled from Shelby Township for the event. “They have a pole in the middle of the dance floor. A stripper pole!”
Many attendees expressed outrage, citing the hefty price tag for tickets and the extravagant costumes they purchased. “We spent extra money on costumes, getting our hair done, our nails done,” Mathis said. “It’s heartbreaking.”
Another attendee, Charming Amecia Fuller-Ragland, described the event as “complete chaos,” pointing out that tickets weren’t even scanned and that random people were present who hadn’t paid for admission.
Ayrton Hamrick, who attended with his girlfriend to celebrate her birthday, said they purchased the “Duke and Duchess” package for $250, which promised valet service, professional photos, and a luxurious experience. “Even arriving to the event, we were told there would be valet service, and we had to self-park and pay for parking,” Hamrick stated.
The owners of the venue, the historic Harmonie Club, issued a statement distancing themselves from the event.
Uncle N Me LLC, the company behind the event, has since disabled comments on their social media posts and has yet to respond to multiple requests for comment from 7 News Detroit.
Bridgerton fans are demanding refunds and are calling for accountability. “I think we should absolutely get refunds, and honestly, I want to see this company never doing business again,” said Camerin Morey, another disappointed attendee.
