Mon Sep 23 21:39:51 UTC 2024: ## Chargers Face Injury Crisis Ahead of Chiefs Matchup

**LOS ANGELES** – The Los Angeles Chargers are facing a major injury crisis heading into their Week 4 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Rookie right tackle Joe Alt suffered an MCL sprain in Sunday’s loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers and is expected to miss this week’s game.

Alt, the fifth overall pick in the draft, joins a growing list of injured Chargers players. Quarterback Justin Herbert aggravated his high right ankle sprain in the third quarter and left the game in a walking boot, though X-rays were negative. Coach Jim Harbaugh said Herbert’s status for Sunday remains uncertain.

Outside linebacker Joey Bosa, who played just two snaps before aggravating a hip injury, and left tackle Rashawn Slater, who left the game with a pectoral injury, also add to the Chargers’ woes. This means the team could potentially enter Sunday’s game without their top two tackles and their starting quarterback.

While the news is concerning, the Chargers have a bye in Week 5, giving their injured players time to recover without missing additional games.
