Wed Sep 25 13:54:54 UTC 2024: ## BJP Demands Siddaramaiah’s Resignation Amidst MUDA Scam Probe

**Bengaluru, September 26:** The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its call for Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation after a special court ordered a Lokayukta police probe against him in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment case.

BJP state president BY Vijayendra, following the court order, urged Siddaramaiah to hand over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and step down, citing the “powerful” nature of the accused. “An investigation by Mysuru Lokayukta is impossible,” Vijayendra asserted, adding that the BJP and JD(S) will stage a protest demanding his resignation on Thursday.

The BJP and JD(S) had earlier attempted to lay siege to Siddaramaiah’s residence, but were thwarted by police.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, however, dismissed the calls for resignation, questioning why the BJP wasn’t demanding the same of their own leaders facing chargesheets.

The High Court had earlier upheld the Governor’s sanction to investigate Siddaramaiah based on allegations of irregularities in the allotment of 14 sites to his wife BM Parvathi by MUDA.

This development adds to the ongoing political tension in Karnataka, with the BJP seeking to capitalize on the MUDA scam allegations against the Chief Minister.
