**Lucknow, India -** The Indian aviation sector is set to welcome a new player, Shankh Air, as it received approval from the Union Civil Aviation Ministry to commence operations. Owned by Shankh Aviation Private Limited, the full-service airline has been granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the ministry, paving the way for its launch.

Shankh Air will be the first scheduled airline to originate from Uttar Pradesh, with its main hubs based in Lucknow and Noida. It aims to connect major cities across India, operating both inter-state and intra-state routes. The airline plans to focus particularly on cities with high demand and limited direct flight options.

“Shankh Air is inviting aviation professionals and aspiring professionals to apply for the most interesting full-service airline start-up from the heartland of Uttar Pradesh, connecting India,” the airline states on its website.

Led by its chairman, Sharvan Kumar Vishwakarma, the airline aims to distinguish itself through competitive pricing, reliability, and a strong emphasis on passenger comfort. It is committed to providing passengers with a seamless flying experience.

While Shankh Air has secured initial clearance, it still requires operational approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) before it can begin flying passengers. The airline is currently in advanced talks with global lessors to secure a fleet of new-generation Boeing 737-800NG narrow-body planes.

Shankh Air’s emergence is a significant development for Uttar Pradesh’s aviation sector. The airline’s focus on enhancing air connectivity within the state aligns with broader initiatives aimed at boosting tourism and economic growth.

This new venture promises to inject fresh competition into the Indian aviation market, offering passengers a new choice for their travel needs.
