Madrid, Spain – Kylian Mbappe continued his impressive start to life at Real Madrid, scoring his sixth goal in five matches as the team defeated Alaves 3-2 on Tuesday. The victory moved Madrid to within one point of league leader Barcelona, who will look to maintain their perfect start when they face Getafe on Wednesday.

Mbappé’s seventh goal for Madrid was a thing of beauty, coming in the 40th minute after a clever give-and-go with Jude Bellingham. The French forward was substituted in the 80th minute with a muscle ailment, but coach Carlo Ancelotti reassured reporters that the injury is not serious.

Lucas Vázquez and Rodrygo also found the net for Madrid, who extended their unbeaten run in the league to 39 matches. Alaves staged a late comeback with goals from Carlos Benavídez and Kike García, but they couldn’t find the equalizer despite some late chances.

Despite the victory, Ancelotti was not happy with his team’s performance in the final stages of the match, stating that they suffered more than they should have.
