Freddie Trone, convicted of murdering rapper PnB Rock, was sentenced to 31 years to life in prison on Monday in a Los Angeles courtroom. Trone was found guilty of murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and two counts of second-degree robbery.
Prosecutors presented Trone as the mastermind behind the robbery, alleging he sent his teenage son into Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles to rob PnB Rock while he waited in the getaway car. The teenage son was found incompetent to stand trial and remains in juvenile custody.
A second defendant, Tremont Jones, was also sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in the robbery. He was found guilty of two counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy.
PnB Rock was tragically shot and killed in September 2022 during the robbery. His girlfriend witnessed the horrific incident as he was robbed of jewelry valued at $500,000 and bled out on the restaurant floor.
