**Los Angeles, CA** – Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been praised by his “Grotesquerie” co-star Niecy Nash-Betts for his professionalism and eagerness to learn on the set of the Ryan Murphy Netflix series.
Nash-Betts, who stars in the thriller series alongside Kelce in his acting debut, told People magazine that Kelce was “very open” to suggestions and feedback. “He was very amenable. ‘Tell me what I don’t know. Tell me what your thought is on this,'” Nash-Betts recalled. “I love that he didn’t come in trying to act like, ‘I know everything and I know it all.'”
The “Scream Queens” alum also called Kelce “very professional” and noted he “always came prepared” to the set. “I just think that fans are going to find him very charming in this role,” Nash-Betts added.
Murphy, who created the series, echoed Nash-Betts’ sentiments, highlighting Kelce’s dedication and work ethic. In a press conference for the FX series, he shared, “He really was amazing. He worked with an acting coach for several months. He showed up off book. He knew everybody’s lines. He was so professional. He was so committed.”
Murphy also emphasized Kelce’s coachability, noting, “He kept saying to me, ‘I’m real coachable. Coach me, coach me.’ So I did, and he ended up being a delight, and I would love to continue working with him on this and other things.”
“Grotesquerie” marks Kelce’s first foray into acting, and both his co-star and the show’s creator have expressed confidence in his future in the entertainment industry.
