**Toronto, Canada & Brooklyn, New York -** Basketball Hall of Famer Vince Carter will have his jersey retired by both the Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets. The Raptors will retire Carter’s No. 15 on November 2nd during their home game against the Sacramento Kings, marking the first time a Raptors player will have their jersey number retired. The Nets will retire his jersey on January 25th during their game against the Miami Heat.
Carter was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 1998 but was traded to the Raptors for Antawn Jamison. He quickly became a fan favorite in Toronto, known for his spectacular dunking ability. Carter won Rookie of the Year in 1999 and led the Raptors to their first-ever playoff appearance.
After playing over five seasons in Toronto, Carter was traded to the New Jersey Nets in 2004. He continued his success in New Jersey, where he formed a formidable duo with Jason Kidd and thrilled fans with his acrobatic dunks.
