Mon Sep 23 20:00:36 UTC 2024: ## Evloev Out of UFC 307 After Sterling Withdrawal, Returns to Russia
**SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH** – Movsar Evloev, a rising star in the UFC’s Featherweight division, has been forced to withdraw from his highly anticipated fight against former champion Aljamain Sterling at UFC 307.
Sterling announced his withdrawal from the bout last week, citing an undisclosed injury. This left Evloev without an opponent just two weeks before the event, prompting him to return to Russia.
“I’ve been training for 4 months and would like to stay on this card and fight anybody,” Evloev stated on social media. “I’m not sure if the UFC can find someone to fight me, but I worked really hard for this fight.”
The withdrawal is a significant blow to both fighters. Evloev, undefeated at 18-0, was looking to use a victory over Sterling to propel himself closer to a title shot. A win against the former champion would have been a major statement for the 30-year-old Russian.
The UFC is now scrambling to find a replacement opponent for Evloev. However, with such short notice, it’s unclear whether they will be able to secure a suitable replacement.
