**Los Angeles, CA:** Eric Stonestreet, beloved for his role as Cam Tucker on the hit sitcom “Modern Family,” has expressed his disappointment over the rejection of a potential spin-off focused on his character and husband Mitch Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson).

In a recent interview with journalist Graham Bensinger, Stonestreet confirmed that the proposed spin-off, which was written by several “Modern Family” writers including co-creator Christopher Lloyd, has been officially shelved by ABC.

“I don’t think it’s potential anymore,” Stonestreet admitted. “It hurt Jesse and my feelings, it hurt Chris Lloyd’s feelings… We weren’t really done.” He added that the decision felt “hurtful” and suggested a possible perception that the characters were “too old” to carry a new series.
