**Milwaukee, WI** – A terrifying incident occurred on Monday, Sept. 23, when an SUV carrying several young children crashed into a We Energies property near Appleton and Hampton on Milwaukee’s northwest side.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud boom followed by screams of “My kids, my kids!” Anthony Arends, who rushed to the scene, helped pull two to four-year-old children from the vehicle. The children’s grandmother confirmed to FOX6 News that they were unharmed.

Surveillance footage obtained by FOX6 News shows the SUV swerving into the grass before hitting a guardrail and tearing through a fence at the We Energies substation. Thankfully, no power equipment was damaged and there were no power outages.

The driver, the children’s mother, told FOX6 News off-camera that she had recently purchased the SUV and believed it had a mechanical issue that caused her to lose control. She declined to speak on camera.

Milwaukee Police arrested the driver and cited her for a license violation. Firefighters and police responded to the scene.
