Mon Sep 23 22:26:10 UTC 2024: ## McFarlane Toys’ New Robin Figure Faces Criticism for Reused Parts and Poor Quality Control
Fans have expressed disappointment with McFarlane Toys’ new 7-inch scale Page Punchers Batman Reborn Robin (Damian Wayne) figure, criticizing the company for reusing parts and lacking attention to detail.
The figure, retailing for $24.99, features a repainted Deathstroke figure, with fans noting that the colors are not as vibrant as previous versions and stand in stark contrast to the artwork. Additionally, the figure includes a knife sheath but no knife, further fueling complaints about the company’s lack of effort.
One fan pointed out the warped Deathstroke staff in promotional images, highlighting the poor quality control and lack of basic diligence. Another compared McFarlane’s practices to Hasbro, stating that while Hasbro may reuse parts, it’s typically done with more sense and care.
“Most companies will re-use but it’s typically just standard bucks, and sculpts or parts that make sense for the character (or at least come close),” the fan said. “I don’t see the Marvel Legends team painting over Wolverine hands with a different color and calling them Cyclops’ gloves.”
Despite these criticisms, other fans acknowledged their appreciation for McFarlane’s figures, particularly for DC characters, as the company is often the only option available.
The new Robin figure is available for purchase from Amazon.
