Mon Sep 23 23:18:00 UTC 2024: ## Packers’ Love Working Towards Return After Knee Injury, Willis Shines in His Absence

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, sidelined with a sprained MCL in his left knee, is working towards a return to the field. While he was limited in practice last week and ultimately inactive for Sunday’s game against the Titans, coach Matt LaFleur remains optimistic about his progress.

“I’m sure he’ll be limited,” LaFleur said of Love’s participation this week. “Then we’ll work it day-by-day.”

Despite Love’s absence, the Packers have remained competitive, winning both games started by backup Malik Willis. Willis, acquired in a trade from the Tennessee Titans just weeks ago, impressed with a career-high 202 passing yards and a touchdown, along with 73 rushing yards and another score against his former team.

Love, however, has been instrumental in helping Willis adjust to his new team, offering coaching and support both on and off the field. “Jordan has been awesome,” said LaFleur. “He’s always been a good teammate… I think he’s done a phenomenal job with the communication… He’s been excellent on the sideline. I can’t say enough about him.”

While the Packers remain hopeful for Love’s swift return, they are confident in Willis’ abilities to lead the team in his absence. Their upcoming game against the New York Giants will be another test for Willis, as he continues to make his mark in Green Bay.
