Mon Sep 23 21:25:21 UTC 2024: ## LSU Linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. Out For Season With Torn ACL

**BATON ROUGE, LA -** LSU linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. will miss the remainder of the 2024 season after suffering a torn ACL during the Tigers’ victory over UCLA on Saturday. The injury occurred in the first quarter as Perkins attempted a tackle.

Head coach Brian Kelly confirmed the severity of the injury, expressing disappointment for Perkins and his hard work. “We’ll have somebody else step up,” Kelly said, emphasizing the team’s depth and confidence in their replacements.

Perkins, a preseason All-America selection, had a strong sophomore season with 5.5 sacks and 75 total tackles. In his freshman year, he recorded 72 tackles and 7.5 sacks. He was expected to declare for the NFL Draft after the season.

Sophomore Whit Weeks, who sits behind Perkins on the depth chart, will likely see increased playing time. LSU also has JK Johnson available.

The Tigers, who have already defeated South Carolina, will face South Alabama this Saturday before entering the heart of their SEC schedule. Their lone loss came against USC in their season opener.
