**LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB)** – Louisville is getting ready for another massive music festival, this time with heavy metal and rock music taking center stage. Louder Than Life, set to take place at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo Center from September 26th to 29th, is expected to draw tens of thousands of fans.
The city is still buzzing from the recent success of the Bourbon & Beyond Festival, which attracted hundreds of thousands of music lovers to the city. While transitioning from one festival to another may seem like a simple switch, it takes weeks of planning, coordination, and quick adjustments to ensure a smooth experience.
Businesses in the city, particularly hotels and restaurants, are already booked solid due to the back-to-back events. The Distil Hotel, a popular choice for festivalgoers, is ready to welcome a new wave of fans, having learned valuable lessons from Bourbon & Beyond.
“Having them back to back is incredible,” said Casey Grinold, a manager at the Distil Hotel. “Economically, that’s phenomenal for the hotel, and it keeps everybody working and busy. We love having the festivalgoers here.”
The hotel is making adjustments to better serve the specific needs of Louder Than Life attendees, including ensuring ample water supply for the hot weather.
The Louder Than Life festival is expected to bring an economic impact of over $33 million to Louisville. The event will feature headliners such as Mötley Crüe, Korn, Slipknot, and Slayer, along with a wide range of rock and metal bands, including Breaking Benjamin, Anthrax, Staind, Evanescence, Disturbed, Judas Priest, and Dropkick Murphys.
Last year’s festival, which featured Green Day, Foo Fighters, Tool, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, and Weezer, drew a record 180,000 attendees from all 50 states and 22 countries.
With the anticipation building, Louisville is ready to rock and roll as Louder Than Life kicks off this Thursday.
