Mon Sep 23 17:36:09 UTC 2024: ## Michigan Football to Face Washington in Seattle Night Game
Ann Arbor, MI – Michigan football’s first road trip of the season will be a night game with a Pacific Northwest twist. The No. 12 Wolverines (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) will travel to Seattle to face the Washington Huskies (3-1, 1-0 Big Ten) on Saturday, October 6th at 7:30 PM ET (4:30 PM PT), a rematch of the 2024 national championship game.
This game will mark the third different network and kickoff time in a three-week span for head coach Sherrone Moore’s team. Michigan’s first Big Ten game, a 27-24 upset over USC, was broadcast on CBS, while next week’s matchup against Minnesota (2-2, 0-1) will air on Fox as the network’s ‘Big Noon Kickoff’ game.
Despite playing each other less than ten months ago, both teams have undergone significant changes. Michigan lost 17 of 22 starters from the national championship team, including 10 on offense and a number of key defensive players. The Huskies, meanwhile, parted ways with head coach Kalen DeBoer, who has since joined Alabama, and brought in former Arizona coach Jedd Fisch.
Michigan’s offense will feature a new look with Alex Orji at quarterback and Kalel Mullings as the star running back. However, the Wolverines’ defense, anchored by projected first-round picks Kenneth Grant, Mason Graham, and Will Johnson, remains formidable.
With both teams sporting a fresh look and the anticipation of a rematch against a familiar opponent, the game promises to be a thrilling contest. The Wolverines will be looking to extend their winning streak and prove they remain a force to be reckoned with, while the Huskies will be seeking a statement victory against a top-ranked opponent.
