Mon Sep 23 17:29:30 UTC 2024: ## “Key & Peele” Stars Reflect on Busy Schedules, Sparking Sadness Over Less Frequent Hangouts

Despite their iconic comedy partnership, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele admit they’ve grown apart due to their separate career paths.

“We don’t see each other that often anymore,” Key told People Magazine, lamenting the situation. “Which is, to me, a tragedy.”

The pair, former roommates and creative partners, have embarked on distinct journeys since their successful Comedy Central show, “Key & Peele,” wrapped in 2015. Key, now based in New York with his wife Elle, has focused on dramatic roles in projects like “Friends From College” and “Schmigadoon.” Meanwhile, Peele has found success in the horror genre with films like “Get Out” and “Nope,” residing in Los Angeles with his wife, Chelsea Peretti.

While their frequent collaborations have shifted, the duo still find opportunities to work together, as seen in projects like “Keanu,” “Toy Story 4,” and “Wendell & Wild.” Despite the distance, their shared history and creative synergy remain evident.

Key explained, “Our evolution, I think, is tied to both of what our desires are,” acknowledging the divergent career paths. “His desire was to start exploring the horror genre, and my desire was to do more dramatic work.”

Though their paths have diverged, Key’s statement reveals a sense of nostalgia for the “alchemy” they shared during their comedic heyday. While acknowledging the inevitable changes in life, it seems the duo still cherish the memories of their collaborative journey.
