Mon Sep 23 22:19:43 UTC 2024: ## “Joker: Folie à Deux” Ending Promises to Be “Unsettling”

Director Todd Phillips has revealed that the ending of the highly anticipated sequel, “Joker: Folie à Deux,” will leave audiences feeling “unsettling.”

Speaking during a Q&A, Phillips described the audience reaction to early screenings: “They sit and they don’t move for about three to five minutes… Then they text me… and go, ‘I need a minute to process the movie.'”

While some outlets have already spoiled the ending in their reviews, Phillips has remained tight-lipped about the specifics.

Despite the divisive nature of the ending, “Joker: Folie à Deux” is expected to be a major success, following the massive box office success of the first film. However, Phillips has stated that this will be his final foray into the “Joker” universe.

The film features a blend of drama and musical elements, with Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga (as Harley Quinn) engaging in song and dance sequences. While the film features several musical numbers, Phillips clarifies that it’s not a full-blown musical: “Most of the music in the movie is really just dialogue… It’s just Arthur not having the words to say what he wants to say, so he sings them instead.”

The sequel, which also stars Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Zazie Beetz, is set to hit theaters on October 4th.
