Mon Sep 23 22:33:55 UTC 2024: ## Jennings Makes History in Losing Effort, But 49ers Fall Short
**San Francisco, CA** – Wide receiver Jauan Jennings etched his name into the 49ers’ record books on Sunday, but his historic performance was overshadowed by a heartbreaking 27-24 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Jennings caught an incredible 11 of 12 targets for 175 yards and three touchdowns, becoming just the second player in franchise history to achieve 10+ receptions, 150+ receiving yards, and 3+ receiving touchdowns in a single game. He joined legendary receiver Jerry Rice, who accomplished this feat three times during his tenure with the 49ers.
The 27-year-old, who signed a multiyear contract extension this offseason, also became the first 49ers receiver to record three touchdowns in a single game since Terrell Owens in 2001.
Despite Jennings’ remarkable efforts, the 49ers ultimately fell victim to two costly fourth-quarter blunders: a dropped pass by Ronnie Bell and a missed field goal by Jake Moody.
As the 49ers look towards the future, they’ll be hoping that Jennings can replicate his historic performance with a more fortunate outcome for the team.
