**Actor Harold Perrineau, known for his roles in iconic shows like “Lost” and “Oz,” is back for the third season of the critically acclaimed sci-fi horror series “From,” and he’s warning fans to brace themselves for a “super dark” ride.**
Perrineau, who plays the self-appointed sheriff and mayor, Boyd Stevens, in the MGM+ series, spoke about the upcoming season during a recent interview. He described the storyline as “heartbreaking” and “stress-filled,” with Boyd facing a “pile of anxiety and stress” as he desperately tries to get the townspeople out of the mysterious, monster-infested town.
“In Season 3, it feels like if Boyd had the option to just spontaneously combust, or blow up, and just be a pile of blood and bones, that’s what he would do,” Perrineau shared.
While he didn’t give away too many spoilers, Perrineau did hint that viewers will finally get answers to some burning questions, but those answers will only lead to more questions. He also emphasized that the show’s creators, John Griffin and Jeff Pinkner, wanted to prioritize the characters’ journeys over just providing easy answers.
“You’ll get the answers, but then the next question is, now, what are these people going to do? That’s the thing that winds up being compelling,” Perrineau explained.
Perrineau also touched on his reunion with “Lost” director Jack Bender, who is directing several episodes of “From.” He praised Bender’s ability to handle the show’s complex material and his trust in the actor’s skills.
“We have that, so that makes it really, really easy to work together,” Perrineau said.
The interview also touched on Perrineau’s role in the “Best Man” franchise, his new bourbon company, and his hopes for future projects.
**Fans of “From” can catch the season premiere of season 3 on MGM+ on August 20th.**
