Mon Sep 23 21:49:45 UTC 2024: ## Rams’ Kupp to Miss Another Week, Ankle Injury Keeps Him Sidelined

Los Angeles Rams star wide receiver Cooper Kupp will miss his second straight game this Sunday against the Chicago Bears, head coach Sean McVay confirmed on Monday. Kupp suffered an ankle injury in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals and has been working on his recovery since.

While McVay has stated that Kupp will not require surgery, the Rams are taking a cautious approach to his return. “We’re not going to rush him back,” McVay said. “He’s going to do everything in his power to get back, and whenever that is, we’ll be excited about that and happy for him.”

This latest setback comes on top of an already injury-riddled receiving corps for the Rams. Rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua, who had a stellar 2022 season, is also on injured reserve with a knee injury sustained in Week 1, and is expected to be sidelined until Week 9.

Despite the absences of Kupp and Nacua, the Rams showed their resilience last week by defeating the defending NFC champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. However, getting their two star receivers back on the field as soon as possible will be crucial for the team’s success this season.

Kupp’s absence is a significant blow to the Rams, as he was off to a strong start to the season with 110 receiving yards and a touchdown in Week 1. The veteran receiver has battled through injuries in recent years, playing just nine games in 2022 and 12 in 2023. His last full season in 2021 saw him set a career-high with 1,947 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, the second-most receiving yards in an NFL season ever.
