**NEW DELHI, Sept 23:** The BJP has launched a scathing attack on former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, questioning his repeated calls for dialogue with Pakistan.
In a statement, BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh accused Abdullah of prioritizing Pakistan’s interests over the progress and development of Jammu & Kashmir. Chugh rhetorically asked, “Is Farooq Abdullah a self-styled ambassador or a PRO of the Pakistan government who keeps advocating the cause of Pakistan more than talking about the progress and development of J&K?”
Chugh emphasized that talks and terrorism cannot coexist and called it “strange” that Abdullah continues to express “anti-national” sentiments, knowing Pakistan’s history of sponsoring terrorism. He further alleged that the Abdullahs and the Congress have prioritized Pakistan’s agenda over peace and development in Jammu & Kashmir.
The BJP leader claimed that the people of Jammu & Kashmir have witnessed the damaging impact of the NC and PDP’s rule over the years and now seek development, job creation, and a peaceful future. He added that they want to move away from the era of violence and unrest.
It’s worth noting that the Congress and NC are currently in alliance for the ongoing Jammu & Kashmir elections.
