**New Delhi, [Date]** – The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the elevation of two Bihar judicial officers, Shashi Bhushan Prasad Singh and Ashok Kumar Pandey, as judges of the Patna High Court. The recommendations were made following a resolution by the Collegium, uploaded on the apex court’s website.

The Patna High Court Collegium had initially forwarded the names of Singh and Pandey to the Supreme Court Collegium on May 7th. The Bihar Chief Minister and Governor subsequently concurred with the recommendations.

The Supreme Court Collegium conducted its due diligence, consulting judges familiar with the Patna High Court to assess the fitness and suitability of the candidates. The Collegium also considered input from the Union Department of Justice.

Singh, currently serving as Registrar (Vigilance) in the High Court, is known for his positive personal and professional reputation. No adverse information regarding his integrity was found.

Pandey, the Director of the Bihar Judicial Academy, also received favorable observations from the Collegium.

The Supreme Court Collegium acknowledged that some senior judicial officers in Bihar were being superseded. However, the High Court Collegium provided satisfactory reasons for these decisions.
