Cliftonville Women’s Premiership team strengthened their grip on the league title with a resounding 6-0 victory over Larne at Inver Park on Saturday.

The Reds dominated from the start, with Kirsty McGuinness opening the scoring in the seventh minute before Carla Devine doubled the lead just three minutes later. Louise McDaniel added a third goal shortly after the restart, effectively putting the game beyond Larne’s reach.

Caitlin McGuinness found the net in the 81st minute, followed by a header from captain Kelsie Burrows to make it five. Northern Ireland midfielder Marissa Callaghan completed the scoring in injury time with a long-range strike, rounding off a dominant performance.

The victory extends Cliftonville’s lead at the top of the table to six points over reigning champions Glentoran, who have a game in hand. Cliftonville will face their title rivals in their penultimate game of the season on Sunday, 6 October.

The Reds are currently undefeated in the league, having won all 13 of their matches, while Glentoran’s only defeat this season came against Cliftonville. Larne remains in eighth place after the defeat.
