**CHARLOTTE, N.C.** – Despite quarterback Bryce Young’s positive attitude and leadership following his benching, the Carolina Panthers will stick with veteran Andy Dalton for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Head coach Dave Canales cited Dalton’s performance in Sunday’s victory over the Las Vegas Raiders as the reason for keeping him as the starter. Dalton threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns, breathing life into a previously struggling offense.
“Andy’s our quarterback,” Canales said on Monday. “He gives us our best chance to win.”
Young, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 draft, showed commendable leadership throughout the week, even while wearing an earpiece to listen in on Canales’ communication with Dalton. Teammates praised his unwavering dedication and positive attitude despite the challenging situation.

The Panthers produced their highest point total in five seasons, with Dalton becoming the first quarterback to throw for over 300 yards in a game since Week 8 of 2022.
