**MOSCOW, Sept. 23 (Xinhua)** – A new survey suggests the BRICS mechanism enjoys strong global support for its role in building a more equitable and just global governance system. The survey, “Global Survey: BRICS Cooperation in the New Era of Global Development 2024,” was conducted in 30 countries and involved 12,316 participants.

The survey found that an average of 94.6% of respondents recognized the BRICS mechanism’s positive influence on global governance. The respondents believe that the BRICS mechanism will increase the representation of developing countries in global governance and contribute to its reform and improvement.

This sentiment is particularly strong among developing countries, with recognition exceeding 95% in BRICS nations and other developing countries. Countries like Russia, Brazil, Pakistan, Cuba, Peru, and Mexico all reported recognition rates of over 96%.

The survey was conducted by the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies in collaboration with Beijing Dataway Technology Co. Ltd. between May and July 2024. The results were released at the BRICS Seminar on Governance & Cultural Exchange Forum 2024 in Moscow.
