The platform’s website and app were overwhelmed by the influx of traffic, leading to technical difficulties and leaving many fans empty-handed. Further aggravating the situation was the rise of ticket scalping, with unauthorized sellers like Viagogo and Gigsberg reselling tickets at exorbitant prices.

BookMyShow has condemned the illegal practice of ticket scalping, distancing itself from these unauthorized sellers. The company issued a strong statement on X, urging fans to avoid purchasing tickets from these platforms due to the risk of counterfeit tickets and financial loss.

BookMyShow has filed a police complaint and pledged to combat ticket scalping, highlighting that it is a punishable offense in India. The company warned fans to exercise caution and avoid buying tickets from unofficial sources.

Despite the technical glitches and ticket scalping issues, the demand for Coldplay’s India tour is undeniable, with celebrities like filmmaker Karan Johar also failing to secure tickets. The band’s performances at Mumbai’s DY Patil Sports Stadium are now scheduled for January 18th, 19th, and 21st, 2025.
