Tue Sep 24 03:45:37 UTC 2024: ## Bortuzzo Takes the Crown: Pittsburgh Penguins’ Best #41

The Pittsburgh Penguins have a long and storied history filled with great players, and the #41 jersey has been worn by a handful of notable figures. While names like Jocelyn Thibault and Daniel Sprong have sported the number, it’s **Robert Bortuzzo** who reigns supreme as the franchise’s best #41.

Drafted in the third round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Bortuzzo played parts of four seasons with the Penguins between 2011 and 2015. Known for his defensive prowess and willingness to drop the gloves, he served as a reliable presence for the Pens.

While his offensive production wasn’t prolific, he did manage to score his first NHL goal against the legendary Martin Brodeur, a feat that surely holds a special place in his memory.

In 2015, Bortuzzo was traded to the St. Louis Blues, where he went on to spend 10 seasons before being dealt to the New York Islanders in 2023. He currently plays for the Utah Hockey Club.

The #41 jersey holds its place in Penguins’ history, and Robert Bortuzzo’s grit and dedication will be remembered as he claimed the title of the franchise’s best #41.
