The incident occurred while Shinde was in custody and allegedly attempted to escape, grabbing a police officer’s gun and firing at an assistant police inspector, injuring him.
Senior Inspector Sanjay Shinde, who previously worked on high-profile cases under the renowned encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma, retaliated, fatally shooting Akshay.
