Mon Sep 23 23:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Former KAAC Chairman Alleges Land Compensation Fraud in Karbi Anglong

**DIPHU, Sept 23:** Augustine Kramsa, former chairman of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council’s Agriculture Board, has accused officials of the KAAC Land and Revenue Department of defrauding him of land compensation for his property acquired for the construction of a four-lane highway.

Kramsa claims that a compensation amount of Rs 4 crore for his land in Nahorjan was illegally withdrawn by officials, including joint secretary Tensing Rongpi, laat mondols Tarun Rongpi, Rup Hasnu, and SK Dhoniram Kathar. He alleges the officials used duplicate land pattas to claim the compensation.

Kramsa specifically pointed to dag numbers 9, 13, 53, and 143, stating that while he received compensation for dag number 1, the other three remain unpaid. He accused the officials of misleading him with false promises.

He further alleged that false names were inserted into the records, including Rakhi Timungpi, Robinson Kathar, and Sanju Katharpi, who have no legitimate claim to the land.

Kramsa has called upon CEM Tuliram Ronghang to intervene in the matter and take immediate action against the accused officials. He has threatened to expose the officials’ misconduct to the public if the ARO/Land Revenue Department fails to respond by September 25.

This case has raised concerns about corruption and land grabbing within the KAAC. Kramsa’s allegations highlight the urgent need for a thorough investigation and appropriate action to ensure justice and transparency.
