Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh: A war of words has erupted between Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and film actor Prakash Raj over allegations of animal fat being used in the preparation of Tirupati Laddu Prasadam.
Kalyan, during his ongoing ‘Prayaschitta Diksha’, a 11-day purification ritual, slammed Prakash Raj for questioning his secularism, while emphasizing the importance of protecting Sanatana Dharma. He stated that he will not tolerate attacks on Hinduism and demanded accountability for the alleged adulteration of Tirupati Prasadam.
On September 20th, Kalyan had called for the establishment of a ‘Sanatana Dharma Rakshana Board’ at the national level, citing the issue as a sign of desecration of temples and religious practices. He accused the TTD board, constituted by the YCP government, of failing to address the issue.
Prakash Raj, currently abroad for a shoot, refuted Kalyan’s accusations and called for an investigation into the issue by the state government. He also criticized Kalyan for spreading apprehension and blowing up the issue nationally, highlighting the already existing communal tensions in the country.
