While viewers witnessed Wanda Maximoff’s tragic fate in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Agatha, still under the effects of the Scarlet Witch’s spell, is blissfully unaware.
The series will explore Agatha’s origins, delving into her history as a powerful witch and her time in Salem, Massachusetts. The show is also expected to touch upon her role as the mother of Nicholas Scratch, a powerful supervillain in the Marvel Comics.
The premiere episode kicks off with a dark and mysterious tone, similar to the acclaimed series Mare of Easttown and True Detective. Agatha, still believing herself to be Agnes, must regain her true identity and witchy powers, a journey that will require magical intervention.
The series will feature a stellar cast, including Kathryn Hahn reprising her role as Agatha Harkness, alongside newcomer Joe Locke in a yet-to-be-revealed role.
