A new poll conducted by American Thinker and Rasmussen Reports shows President Donald Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris by a narrow margin in Georgia. The poll, which surveyed 1,152 likely voters, found that Trump holds a 3-point lead over Harris if the election were held today.
While the poll reveals a close race overall, with 50% backing Trump and 47% supporting Harris, a significant divide emerges when voters are asked about the greater threat to democracy. A whopping 57% of Georgia voters believe Harris and the Democrats pose a larger threat to democracy than Trump and the Republicans (39%).
Economic concerns dominate the minds of Georgia voters. A staggering 39% identify the economy as their top priority, followed by border security at 16%. This anxiety translates to a clear preference for Trump on economic issues, with 52% of voters trusting him to improve the economy compared to 44% for Harris. Voters are also demonstrably wary of Biden’s economic policies, with 40% saying they would be less likely to support Harris due to them.
Immigration remains a major concern in Georgia, with 59% of respondents feeling that the government is doing too little to stop illegal immigration. Voters overwhelmingly favor a candidate who supports deportation over amnesty, with 53% backing deportation and 30% supporting amnesty. Trump also enjoys a strong advantage on border security, with 56% of voters trusting him more than Harris to secure the southern border.
The poll also reveals strong conservative leanings in Georgia, with 77% of voters agreeing that there are only two genders and 59% opposing gender-affirming care for minors.
These results suggest that the upcoming election in Georgia could hinge on voters’ perceptions of economic security, immigration, and their views on social issues. While the race is close, Trump’s lead on these key issues could give him an edge in the crucial battleground state.
